When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you, and
I'll want to feel it too.
Well, the song of the day for Olbia is Island in the Sun and is sung by "Weezer". I've never heard of them, but Jamie knows who they are, so there you have it!
Got up early this morning and went on the Jeep Safari. There were 5 of us in our Landrover along with a guide and driver. We headed up the back roads into the mountains and there was lots of dirt and sun. Olbia reminds me of being in the middle of the desert (think of Nevada or Arizona) with a hot wind and nothing to see. They say they have every type of climate there-mountains, water, etc. But all I saw was desert and then the beautiful sea! Thus the title of the song of the day "Island in the Sun".
It was windy today and hot again. We went to a "tomb" site and went on a short hike in the "mountain" to see the tomb. It was pretty kewl.
Then we came back behind this landmark and had goat cheese and some kind of bread which we would call Pita bread in the United States. The goat cheese was excellent.
We went to a small farming village in the mountains and saw a small church which was very small but maintained very well. The people in the area were very excited to see us. They were getting ready for some festival that the village was having. The people are very friendly. Very nice and they are short like me! Thus, everytime I sat down on a bench or at a table it was specifically made for me. Robert thought that the tables and chairs were too small. Imagine that!
Went and saw another village that looked out over the sea and got there right at noon when church was getting out. Walked around some small shops and had about 30 minutes there.
Then we headed down to the sea and saw the beautiful water and all the huge yachts that the rich and famous bring in to hang out in.
Then we headed back to the ship. Arrived back around 1 p.m. Jamie and I went to the pool for the afternoon and Robert took a little hike back into town and wandered around.
The sunset was beautiful as we sailed away from Olbia. It is an early night for everyone as we are in Rome tomorrow (Monday) and it will be a busy day.

Your adventures sound amazing. It makes me want to leave for my vacation right now! I have enjoyed reading your blog. You are so talented. Nothing happening here -- very quiet and boring. Hopefully I'll see you before I leave for vacation, but if not, you'll have to teach me this blog thing when I get back.
Nina
We so agree with you. So much so we packed up and moved here with our own little business
